Forever Connected helps babies communicate before they can speak, empowering families to build calmer, more connected homes through sign language
A small sign can make a big difference.
Simple signs can make everyday parenting feel more connected. From expressing hunger and emotions to creating calmer routines, signing with babies helps children communicate in ways that reduce frustration and strengthen trust.
Supports early communication
Babies can express needs and feelings before they are physically able to speak.
Reduces frustration
Babies cry and fuss to get what they need. Providing them with language they can use greatly reduces frustration.
Eases the terrible twos
A child who learns to communicate early is less likely to rely on fits and tantrums to be understood.

A passion for meaningful connection
Lisa's passion for connection and communication led her to develop Forever Connected.
Lisa heard about signing with babies when her son, now in his 30s, was three years old. Disappointed that she missed the opportunity to sign with her infant, Lisa never forgot the quote she read on the back of a book: "We condemn our children to an extra year of non-communication simply because their vocal cords have not developed."
Five years later, Lisa had the opportunity to go back to school and decided to study sign language. That led to becoming a sign language interpreter, and 25 years later, she is here to share what she knows to bridge the gaps in communication with little ones.

Questions Parents Often Ask
Everything you need to know about signing with babies and the Forever Connected mission.
What age should I start signing with my baby?
You can start from day one. Just like you start talking to them from the moment they’re born, you can add in a few signs from the get-go. You can sign “milk” every time you feed them and every time you talk about food or eating. They will be happy and fascinated by your hand movements. Soon they will connect the hand movement to the empty feeling in their belly.
Does signing with babies cause speech delays?
Just the opposite. Research has proven for decades that signing with babies helps them develop spoken language. It lights up the language centers of the brain. Having one language helps them learn others.
At what age will the baby start signing back to me?
It varies widely but anywhere between a few months to one year. If you are patient and consistent and repetitive, it will come. Watch their little hands for any movement close to what you have been showing them. It won’t be perfect and it doesn’t need to be.
